Meet the Team

Allison Tables, MA, NCC, LPC

As Co-owner and Director of Clinical Services, Allison Tables oversees all individual, group, and family therapy within Effective Services. As an experienced clinician and school counselor, Allison, both oversees and provides therapeutic and social skills support from both a relational and educational perspective. Throughout Allison’s experience as a school counselor and therapist, it became clear to her that the mental health of children and adolescents can not be treated in a vacuum. She therefore helped create Effective Services in order to comprehensively tackle mental health from a collaborative integration of therapist and academic interventionist. Through a team-based approach, Allison models for her team the value of connecting with each client’s executive function coach and/or academic interventionist to have a holistic understanding of all facets of the individual.

Susan Chandler

Accomplished Special Education teacher and Administrator, Susan Chandler is co-owner and Director of Academic Services. Sue and the academic team provide comprehensive services to assist students with identifying and understanding the importance of their learning styles and learning profile. Sue believes it is of great value for students to “learn how to learn.”  Our academic interventionists and EF coaches match students’ learning preferences and cognitive style with appropriate instruction, increasing academic achievement and attitude toward learning. With Sue’s extensive years of experience as an academic support teacher, inclusion specialist and educational evaluator, she and the academic team provide explicit instruction in reading comprehension, written expression, effective study skills development and executive functioning. This approach encourages students to develop an understanding of how they learn best, allowing them to become active participants in designing an individualized plan to support their learning, self determination and self advocacy. In addition, Sue’s experience as a special education administrator enables her to provide collaborative support to parents and students, to help them navigate the IEP/504 process and increase their understanding of their rights and roles as members of the planning and placement team.
